Clinical Sleep Health Practitioner™ (CSHP)

What Is a Clinical Sleep Health Practitioner™?

Healthcare creates specialized roles when patients need specialized care.

Nurses provide nursing care.

Respiratory therapists provide respiratory care.

Case managers provide case management.

The Clinical Sleep Health Practitioner™ (CSHP) provides Clinical Sleep Health Care™.

The CSHP is the healthcare professional who establishes Clinical Sleep Health Care™ within inpatient care.

The CSHP works with physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, case managers, and other members of the healthcare team to make sleep health part of patient care.

The role is not intended to replace other healthcare professionals.

It is designed to bring specialized sleep health expertise to the healthcare team.

As hospitals establish Clinical Sleep Health Care™, the CSHP helps ensure that patients' sleep health needs are identified, coordinated, and addressed throughout hospitalization.

Clinical Sleep Health Care™ becomes part of patient care through the work of the Clinical Sleep Health Practitioner™.
